Appalachian Repeater Association
The Appalachian Repeater Association was formed by Gary Holt (WV8B), and Dale Warrick (N8FRV) in 1980. In 1986, the ARA was divided into two divisions, the northern and the southern sectors. However due to growing technology and many other factors, the ARA is now one large organization.
What is the Appalachian Repeater Association? We are a group of amateur radio operators in Southern West Virginia and Southwestern Virginia, who are dedicated to the enjoyment and enhancement of amateur radio.
The ARA's mission is to provide local amateur radio operators with reliable repeater coverage. In doing so, we support and maintain many amateur radio repeaters in West Virginia, and Virginia.
The Appalachian Repeater Association is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization
